Virtual Production.
Put your brand on any set, anywhere — without leaving London
Your brand can stand in front of St Paul's, inside a gleaming product launch set, or on a clean abstract stage built to your exact colours, and never leave central London to do it. Most teams reach that moment with a real problem: the location they want is booked, weather-dependent, three flights away, or simply too expensive to dress for one shoot. Virtual production at Disruptive Live solves it on our Southbank studio floor. We composite your people against a broadcast-quality green-screen background, so the camera sees the world you need while you stay warm, on schedule, and in control.
What virtual production actually is
Virtual production puts your presenters in a physical studio and replaces the green-screen background behind them with a virtual set in real time. That set can be a recognisable London view, a designed environment built around your brand, or one of the unique sets we already own. The presenter sees a monitor; the camera sees the finished frame. Because the composite happens live, you are not waiting weeks for post-production to discover whether a shot worked. You watch it work, on the day, and adjust while everyone is still in the room.
It is the same discipline that broadcast weather, sport and news studios have relied on for years, applied to corporate film, launches, panel shows and presenter-led content. The difference is honesty about method. We do this with green screen and careful lighting, not a wall of screens, which keeps the cost sane and the look clean.
How we deliver it on the Southbank floor
We start with a short pre-production conversation about the set you want and what your people need to say. We either custom design a virtual environment to your brand or pull one of our existing sets, your choice. On the day, our crew lights the green screen evenly, runs the keying and compositing live in the gallery, and directs your presenters so they hit their marks and look at home in a set they cannot physically see. You leave with finished frames rather than a pile of raw plates and a render queue.
Because we are a working broadcast and live streaming operation, the same session can go out live to your audience, record clean for editing later, or both at once. Nothing about the virtual set forces you to choose between live and recorded.
Immersive spatial sound, built into the set
A virtual set is only convincing if the sound matches the picture. We record in immersive spatial sound, so the audio carries the same depth and presence as the world on screen. Every presenter has a dedicated microphone and the studio is captured spatially, which keeps voices grounded in the space rather than sitting flat on top of it.
It is the difference between a virtual environment you watch and one you believe. The sound is treated at the source and cleaned by hand, so what reaches the audience is immersive from the first frame, not rescued in the edit.
What you get
- A central London, Southbank studio with an evenly lit green-screen stage and a working gallery
- A custom-designed virtual set built to your brand, or your pick of our existing sets
- Live keying and compositing, so you see the finished shot on the day, not weeks later
- Broadcast-trained crew who direct presenters to look natural against a set they cannot see
- The option to stream the session live, record it clean for edit, or run both together
- Finished, broadcast-quality frames you can publish, cut, or hand to your editor
Where it earns its place
Product and brand launches where you want a designed, on-brand stage without building and striking a physical one. Presenter-led series and panel shows that need a consistent look across many episodes without re-hiring a location each time. Executive messages and results videos where a calm, controlled set keeps a nervous speaker comfortable. Sponsored or partner content where a recognisable London backdrop signals where you sit in the market. Any shoot where the location you really want is unavailable, weather-dependent, or too costly to dress for a single day.
Why it beats hiring a location
Booking a location means paying for travel, permits, dressing, a weather contingency and a crew standing idle while the light changes, then hoping the footage cuts together when you are back at base. If it does not, the day is gone and the budget with it. A virtual set removes that gamble. The environment is built before you arrive, the lighting is constant, and you confirm the look live in the gallery rather than discovering a problem in the edit. One studio day can carry several scenes and a quarter's worth of content, at a cost you can predict before you commit. You are trading a variable, weather-exposed spend for a fixed one, and trading a long wait for an answer you get on the day.
Common questions
Do you record in spatial audio?
Yes. We capture immersive spatial sound, with a dedicated microphone per presenter and the studio recorded spatially. The audio keeps the depth and presence of the virtual set rather than sounding flat, and it is treated at the source so nothing has to be rescued afterwards.
Will it look like a green-screen shoot or like a real set?
Like a real set, when it is lit and keyed properly, which is the part we do every day. The give-away on a bad green-screen job is uneven lighting and lazy edges. Our crew lights the stage evenly and composites in the gallery so the join holds up at broadcast quality. The whole point of building the set live is that you can see for yourself, before anyone wraps, that it sits right.
Can you build a set to our exact brand?
Yes. We either custom design a virtual environment around your colours, logo and the message you are delivering, or, if one of our existing sets already fits, we use that to save you time and money. We will tell you honestly which route serves you better once we have seen your brand and heard what the shoot is for.
Do we need to bring camera-confident presenters?
It helps, but it is not on you to solve alone. Standing in front of a green screen and reacting to a set you cannot see is unfamiliar for most people, so our crew directs your presenters through it, gives them marks to hit, and shows them the composite on a monitor so they can settle. Plenty of first-time presenters leave looking like they have done it for years.
Can the same shoot go out live and be recorded?
Yes. We are a live streaming operation as well as a studio, so a virtual-production session can broadcast live to your audience, record clean for later editing, or do both in one sitting. You do not have to decide between reaching people now and having a polished cut afterwards.
If you are weighing this up, the easiest next step is to come and see the floor. Book a studio walkthrough or a short conversation about the set you have in mind, and we will tell you plainly whether a virtual build, an existing set, or something else entirely is the right call for your shoot. No commitment beyond the chat.
