Sidel Bloodsaw Kemp Cloud Expo Europe 2020
NAYOKA OWARE [00:00:09] Hello and welcome to the London Tech show 2020 brought to you by CloserStill Media. I’m Nayoka Oware hosting for Disruptive Live. Today I am joined by Sidel Bloodsaw, who is the Channel Pre-Sales Engineer for Kemp. Sidel, How are you?
SIDEL BLOODSAW [00:00:25] I’m great. I’m great. How are you doing?
NAYOKA OWARE [00:00:26] I’m well, thank you. Thank you for joining me today.
SIDEL BLOODSAW [00:00:28] Awesome. Thank you for having me. Thank you for having me.
NAYOKA OWARE [00:00:30] You’re welcome. What are your thoughts on the event so far?
SIDEL BLOODSAW [00:00:33] I would say that the events so far has been great. Even though in light of current events, the footfall hasn’t been as much as it normally is. At our stand we still had quite a number of people come to us. So it’s been really good so far. I can’t complain.
NAYOKA OWARE [00:00:47] I’m glad to hear that. Tell us more about what your top role entails and what Kemp do.
SIDEL BLOODSAW [00:00:53] OK. So what I do is I facilitate our technology to different channel partners that we have. I also train them and I go to events such as this and I evangelize to others about what Kemp as a company do. Now, Kemp is a load balancing company and the premise of that is simply we want to make sure that the applications which anyone uses is accessible at all times. And that is the main premise of what we do. We have add ons on top of that. But the core message is you don’t want to have any downtime associated with what you do because that can be brand reputation, that can be money lost, that can be someone being fired as an extreme example. And what we want to do is we want to make the people’s lives who use our product much easier.
NAYOKA OWARE [00:01:38] Wonderful. Why are you here at the London Tech Show? Why did you decide to come here?
SIDEL BLOODSAW [00:01:42] So we came to the London Tech Show. It’s our fifth year, at least as far as I’m aware, it was our fifth year being here. Brand exposure is the main one. A lot of people will come to us saying, we didn’t know who you were and we get that a lot. But the main premise of it is to brand exposure and to show people that in our space that there is a competitor to the big name, which will be F5 their number one competitor, to say that there is an alternative to them. And that alternative you should give a look to just see what we do.
NAYOKA OWARE [00:02:13] Why should people buy from Kemp?
SIDEL BLOODSAW [00:02:15] The main reason why people should buy from Kemp is that we offer an easy to use solution. Our support team are world class. We have an award coming up soon, the Network Computing awards on that it’s gonna hopefully demonstrate the fact that our support team are second to none. Another fact is that, as I mentioned, our product is very easy. The main point is we don’t want to be a bottleneck for people or for people that are using our services. So we want to make sure we get it into the hands in the form that they want it in. And they have no problems from there. From the point where they come to someone like myself and pre-sales or to train them to a support team, we want it to be easy from start to finish.
NAYOKA OWARE [00:02:52] Thank you for that. What products and services do you offer?
SIDEL BLOODSAW [00:02:55] So we offer mainly a load balancer. That’s all that we do. But we also offer professional services in our product. We also offer training in our product done by myself and other members of my training team in our distribution centres. Those are the main things that we offer. We also offer these things. For example, in the cloud. So in Microsoft’s Azure platform or Amazon’s AWS platform. Also, we offer on premise. As I said to you before, we try to make it accessible for everyone so that as soon as they say I need this in the cloud and need this on my own private cloud we’re there and we can handle the job that they want us to do.
NAYOKA OWARE [00:03:33] Earlier you mentioned that Kemp is a great alternative to your competitor, but what makes you different from them?
SIDEL BLOODSAW [00:03:40] What I say would make us different is the fact that we have something that’ll be called a template. Now, that is pretty much a ease of use management for us. So basically when we would use a technology like ours, it would take hours to deploy our product if you had to do everything by hand. So with our technology, we can take that down from hours to minutes. That’s going to bring a lot of people a lot of time saving. And at the same time, we can also show that our from our price point, we can allow more budget to be used for different parts of infrastructure that people need to use. So I would say that is our our USP. Another one is just the fact that with our technology, the main thing that we want to have is that you don’t know that we’re there. So our technology is invisible but has a visible impact because if we don’t have a technology in place, everything comes crashing down to a steaming hault and we don’t want that. That’s why we’re here.
NAYOKA OWARE [00:04:33] Okay. Thank you for that. In this day and age, we like to know that things are either quick or easy to use. So is your product easy to use?
SIDEL BLOODSAW [00:04:39] Yes, it’s very much easy to use. We can get our software up and running from someone who hasn’t used it before. In about half an hour, where with other products that could take up to three hours. And that’s like you said, time is money. So we got other things we got to do. We want to make sure that we can get our stuff out of the way and get up and running. Good to go.
NAYOKA OWARE [00:04:58] Thank you so much for joining me Sidel.
SIDEL BLOODSAW [00:04:59] Thank you very much.
NAYOKA OWARE [00:05:00] It’s been great speaking to you.
SIDEL BLOODSAW [00:05:01] Thank you.
NAYOKA OWARE [00:05:02] Thank you for watching.
