Welcome to you both.
JAMES HENIGAN [00:00:30] Thank you.
DAMON CRAWFORD [00:00:31] Thank you.
NAYOKA OWARE [00:00:31] You’re welcome. How you enjoying the event so far?
JAMES HENIGAN [00:00:33] Yeah, it’s been good. I mean, unfortunately, we’ve had some disruption with unexpected incidents, but yeah, events been okay.
NAYOKA OWARE [00:00:41] And yourself?
DAMON CRAWFORD [00:00:41] yeah enjoying it. We’ve managed to speak to quite a few customers, even though the know as James said the footfall has maybe not been what we expected but it’s been enjoyable nonetheless.
NAYOKA OWARE [00:00:53] I’m glad you’re both enjoying it. Tell us a bit more about Six Degrees and what you do?
JAMES HENIGAN [00:00:58] So Six Degrees is a UK based cloud services provider. We look after customers who are predominantly mid-market clients in the UK who are undergoing some form of digital transformation. And our main aim is to help those customers navigate that transformation journey with the services we provide, whether it be cloud based services, cyber based services or network based services.
NAYOKA OWARE [00:01:21] Thank you for that James. Damon, what’s the biggest challenge your customers are seeing at the moment?
DAMON CRAWFORD [00:01:26] It obviously varies by customer and by their industry, but I think there are there are probably four main ones that we we see consistently across our customers. So I think the first one is the pace of change and the complexity that change brings for for our customers. And obviosuly that’s where organisations like Six Degrees are relevant, the services we offer. Skills and the lack of skills in the marketplaces is always a challenge for our customers. And obviously we tried to we’ve tried to help alleviate some of that. Security and governance around security is a perennial issue and seems to be becoming more of an issue for our customers. And I think that the last one is really whilst we’ve had lots of customers, as James says, in digital transformation. It’s been movements to cloud the new technologies, but we’re only we’re only just starting to see I think our customers in the sort of SME market and the SMB market are starting to really understand their data to start to exploit it. So I think there’s still a long way for them to go.
NAYOKA OWARE [00:02:34] Thank you for that. James, what’s all the key customer trends in these challenges?
JAMES HENIGAN [00:02:39] So as Damon says, where we focus with our mid-market clients in the UK, there’s a few things that we’re starting to see happen. So you will have seen quite a lot of customers jump in to various cloud services over the years. And what they’re finding is they end up with multiple suppliers. It’s quite difficult for them to manage the complexity, both commercial, contractual, legal perspective as well as the technology challenges that Damon highlights. So what we’re starting to see from some of those clients is at least a desire and an intent to have more convergence of their services. And it’s important that service providers like Six Degrees who have a broad capability and portfolio, are able to help those clients converge their services and one provider.
NAYOKA OWARE [00:03:18] Thank you for that. And lastly, what does the future look like for Six Degrees?
JAMES HENIGAN [00:03:23] So Six Degrees today. Well-positioned in the market with the breadth of capability that we have across our cloud platform and data practise. Our agile workspace practise, which helps our clients, employees maximize their efficiency. Our cybersecurity practise and obviously cyber and security is a key concern of our clients and our network infrastructure business. So be in position to offer all those services in a practical way for our clients is putting us in a really strong position now to help those clients who are either starting their journey midway through their journey, trying to figure out what they do. So we see a really strong future ahead in the near term and the mid-term with helping those clients succeed on that transformation.
NAYOKA OWARE [00:04:04] Damon, would you like to add to that?
DAMON CRAWFORD [00:04:06] Yeah, I think the on top of that, we what we’re trying to do is continually evolve our services. So as our customers get more mature with certain technologies, they need maybe a different type of service than they would when they first start. So we’re trying to make our our offering as relevant as possible, trying to make it maybe a bit more granular and make sure that we evolve with our customers needs as they evolve into technology as well.
NAYOKA OWARE [00:04:33] Thank you both for joining me. It’s been a pleasure speaking to you.
JAMES HENIGAN [00:04:36] Thank you.
DAMON CRAWFORD [00:04:36] Thank you.
NAYOKA OWARE [00:04:37] Thank you for watching.
