NAYOKA OWARE [00:00:20] And today we are joined by David Worster, the CEO of Kelverion. David how are you doing?
DAVID WOOSTER [00:00:26] Very well, thank you.
NAYOKA OWARE [00:00:27] Good. Happy to be at the event?
DAVID WOOSTER [00:00:29] Very happy to be at the event. Yes it’s nice to be back. This is, I think, our third year running.
NAYOKA OWARE [00:00:34] Oh, wow. Amazing. We’ll talk more about that later.
NICKY PENNYCOOK [00:00:37] And so who are Kelverion and what is your role their?
DAVID WOOSTER [00:00:41] So, Kelverion, are an IT software process automation company, we develop solutions for customers effectively to automate their IT infrastructure. We started 10 years ago working on the Microsoft System Centre platform, building out integrations to a lot of the main enterprise management company organizations such as service desks, event management systems and the solutions to help customers take advantage. Since then, we’ve been spending the last four years developing solutions and implementing solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform.
NAYOKA OWARE [00:01:19] Thank you for that. What are the benefits of the service request automation?
DAVID WOOSTER [00:01:23] So the benefits service requests automation is our focus in the automation space. Automation is a very broad space, as you’re probably aware. There’s so many companies offering automation today. So what we’ve found over time is where we provide the most benefit for our customers is when we automate their IT service requests. This could be everything from onboarding a new user, requesting a new virtual machine, requesting new software to be deployed. And customers today more than likely are doing that in a manual way, which is taking them a long time. Where in reality to run the process takes a matter of minutes, not weeks.
NICKY PENNYCOOK [00:02:03] Great, thank you. So what’s you customers look for in an automations solution?
DAVID WOOSTER [00:02:06] So our experience of automation and we worked with a number of automation platforms is there’s three key things to look for in an automation solution. The first is the graphical user interface so that you could graphically build out your processes in the same way that you would visualise that process taking place. So we replace code and lines and lines of script with a graphical representation. The reason for that is it makes it far, far quicker and easier to author the process. But more importantly, when it comes to support ability, that’s becomes far easier to support than a thousand lines of code or or more. So that’s the first thing to look for is that graphical user interface. The second piece, if you’re going to provide any form of automation, you have to be able to integrate to the things you’re going to automate. So the next step is looking for products that have a wide range of integrations available to them rather than trying to work out how you do it yourself. And then the third thing is where a lot of people then struggle with automation. It’s looking for content. So this is prebuilt content that you can immediate use, get up and running, start delivering value to your organisation. Most organizations, when they start an automation project, solve with a blank piece of paper and say right now, what do we need to build and how do we need to build it? So it’s very important to have that content, to have that graphical user interface and have a wide range of integrations.
NAYOKA OWARE [00:03:40] David, what is Kelverion’s offering for cloud automation?
DAVID WOOSTER [00:03:45] So cloud automation to us is effectively being able to host automation in the cloud, to be able to use it as a SaaS service and to be able to pay for it as you go. Our offering is called the Runbook Suite. The Runbook Suite enables you to author, develop and configure your processes in a an on premise graphical environment, say on a client or a server. But then we allow you to upload and automatically sync that with the actual automation service which is used as the execution engine. So on top of that, we provide a cloud based automation portal and over 300 integrations which allow you to interface to pretty much everything that’s out there, either in a very simple level or a very highly intelligent level. So at the show we’re talking about how our customers can gain over 400 percent return on their investment in their first year by really just automating the standard IT operational tasks they perform today. Things like creating a new user managing office 365. Requesting and provisioning a virtual machine, deploying software. All of these things are standard things, organizations, both small and large, do day in, day out. So our offering really at the show, is to show customers how we can save them 400 percent in their first year. And we also offer them a automation assessment, value assessment where we use their own figures. So that becomes real for them in terms of their business working with their figures.
NAYOKA OWARE [00:05:22] Okay. How did you come up with the name Kelverion?
DAVID WOOSTER [00:05:25] That’s a very, very good question. It’s 10 years ago. So when we did the first search, I think it turned out to be a mythical dragon. But no, I think it’s one of those names that it came up because it was so hard to find names these days, even 10 years ago. It was hard to find names. And it’s stuck and it’s grown with us as a business. And I like to think it’s come to signify that we deliver good value. In fact, great value for our customers.
NAYOKA OWARE [00:05:57] Thank you. Lastly, David, you said that this is your third year here at the event. Have you noticed any differences, any changes. Is there anything you would change about the event?
DAVID WOOSTER [00:06:07] We have a great position here next to the main exit, what you call it, theatre. So the main theatre, I think we, the other thing is there’s obviously a lot of better planning gone into the show and we’re having some very good conversations at the show. So we’re delighted to be meeting and hopefully talking to new customers.
