NATALIE TURNER [00:00:13] Hello and welcome back to day two of the Digital Transformation Expo. And with me, Natalie Turner from Disruptive Live and my wonderous co-host, David Savage. Do you like it, it’s getting better isn’t it.
DAVID SAVAGE [00:00:24] Trying to keep a straight face
NATALIE TURNER [00:00:26] We are joined by Samir Parekh, who is the CEO and I’m sorry, Founder of Think Sense.
SAMIR PAREKH [00:00:32] Thanks very much Natalie.
NATALIE TURNER [00:00:34] How are you?
SAMIR PAREKH [00:00:34] I’m good, yourself?
NATALIE TURNER [00:00:35] Yes, very well. Thank you so much for coming on board with us.
SAMIR PAREKH [00:00:37] An IT event. Quite hustling and bustling. Very active.
NATALIE TURNER [00:00:40] Yes.
SAMIR PAREKH [00:00:41] Thanks for having me on the TV. Thank you.
NATALIE TURNER [00:00:43] No problem. So could you tell us a little bit more about Think Sense and why your here?
SAMIR PAREKH [00:00:47] So Think Sense is a company which specializes in cognitive robotics. And in a nutshell, it’s more about middle and back office employees who are doing repetitive mundane tasks. Essentially, those people are less technical people and what they want is something that can make their lives easier and simpler. That’s where Think Sense comes in. It’s all about getting all those repetitive activities out of the way by creating a robot yourself. You can actually create a robot just by doing some actions on your desktop without learning the technology and all those repetitive actions done by the robot. So that’s where we come in. That’s what we do.
NATALIE TURNER [00:01:27] So what does digital transformation mean to you?
SAMIR PAREKH [00:01:30] Digital transformation. It’s a big subject these days. It’s more about efficiency, it’s more about productivity, it’s more about customer centric approach, how we can serve the customer better as well. How can we make our own lives better as we ourselves are the customers of technology as well.
NATALIE TURNER [00:01:48] So you speak about AI let’s move a little bit further into that. There’s obviously a lot of opportunities with AI but what are the challenges and consequences of using it?
SAMIR PAREKH [00:01:58] Challenges is the technology itself. How can we make it easily accessible? Let’s say when I say AI my task would be how can I make AI so easy so that you, David, can use it readily to make your lives better? And that’s where we come in as Think Sense saying we don’t need to learn AI actually to use or harness the power of AI will be more than happy to facilitate tools which make it so easy for you guys to just gain the benefits of using AI without having to know the technology. When it comes to AI that’s the biggest challenge, making it more accessible, demystifying the AI jargon. There is a lot of people who are scared about AI and all those aspects. Well, from my perspective, I say it’s just a technology why be scared about it. Let’s live with it, gain the benefits of it and use it to make our lives better.
NATALIE TURNER [00:02:53] You talk about harnessing the power of AI I mean, how can we use that to increase employee productivity?
SAMIR PAREKH [00:02:59] Just like I mentioned earlier, every office employee does some sort of repetitive activities, it takes half hour to an hour of its time. One day, every day when I’m working office day, if we as a company can even free up one hour a day from that repetitive activities, I think the purpose is well served because that one hour the employee or you yourself can use towards learning something new or making yourself more productive or making something let’s say a little bit more efficient in terms of making the organization go faster ahead. Well, accurately.
NATALIE TURNER [00:03:37] So what’s the key message that you’re hoping to get out today at DTX?
SAMIR PAREKH [00:03:42] Well, that aspect is very simple. Use technology, which is simple adaptive to make work more efficient, more lovable and more productive.
NATALIE TURNER [00:03:54] So what makes you different to competitors?
SAMIR PAREKH [00:03:56] Tons of things, it’s more about how simplified is the technology. So that’s where we have the key differentiator from all other competitors and the technology is really simple to use and it could go as complicated as one has an appetite for it. But to gain the advantages, you really don’t have to spend hours or months to learn the technology. You can use the technology readily as it is available and gain the benefits without having to learn anything about it.
DAVID SAVAGE [00:04:26] I suppose an interesting point, might be if you’re going to scale this business as a CEO and founder, you need to know what your niche is and who your audience is. You’re kind of saying that myself, or Natalie could build a robot. But equally, employees in some firms might be slightly reticent to adopt AI. Whereas if it’s driving efficiencies within the business, I would assume the CTO with a CIO or even the CEO and CFO might be that stakeholder. So who is to say go, who are you having to target? Because just going out to anybody within an organization isn’t going to give you that focus?
SAMIR PAREKH [00:04:58] No, not at all. Normally when we go out, it’s more to a Chief Innovation Officer, Chief Operating Officer, CTO as well. But the key message here what we’re delivering is, guys, you already had your go at outsourcing. If you already have taken all the steps that were necessary, but the technology at a given point in time and still are not able to deliver efficiencies and you got costs the operating costs are spiralling up out of the control, then you can use our toolkit to get everything done and dusted and sorted very nicely while still delivering essential business functionalities.
NATALIE TURNER [00:05:35] So what’s the future looking like for Think Sense?
SAMIR PAREKH [00:05:38] Great. We’ve had fantastic traction. Good traction. We had very nice foot count on our stall as well today. And future is looking very bright. I think future is what we do. How would we harness technology and today’s generation is more tech savvy. We love it.
NATALIE TURNER [00:05:55] Fantastic, ok well, that is a fantastic note to leave that on.
SAMIR PAREKH [00:05:58] Thanks very much.
NATALIE TURNER [00:05:59] Samir it was an absolute pleasure having you on.
SAMIR PAREKH [00:06:01] Pleasure.
NATALIE TURNER [00:06:02] Thanks you so much. Well that is all from us for now. However, don’t go away we’ll be back after a short break. See you at 3.
